K. Brunini Debuts Spirit Animals Collection at Couture

May 20, 2008

Nature inspired ringsNew York, NY May 20, 2008 With inspiration from Native American and Mayan cultures, K.Brunini Jewels’ Spirit Animals are bejeweled creatures fashioned into jewelry art. Created as a limited edition collection, the Spirit Animals are miniature sculptures- each one having its own unique style: wearing necklaces, crowns, anklets in pearls, emeralds, rubies and diamonds… Made from 18K gold, the Spirit Animals incorporate other alternative materials such as carved bone, wood, and jet into wild pendants and rings.

One of the very first designers to dedicate her jewelry designs to Mother Nature, K.Brunini’s inspiration for the Spirit Animals came from a trip to Tulum, Mexico and an evening in a temezcal (sweat lodge) with a Mayan shaman. In ancient cultures, the animal totems have acted as guides and reminders of qualities either present or missing in our lives. K.Brunini’s Spirit Animals represent the powerful qualities in these “spirit guides”. Mythically, they are messengers, guiding us, teaching us, and protecting us through spiritual challenges.

Katey Brunini is celebrating her company’s 10 year anniversary of designing fine jewelry inspired by the organic themes found in nature using only the finest of materials. The natural evolution of Brunini’s collection from Twigs, to rattlesnake Vertebrae, Spider Webs, and Objects Organique is now complemented by Spirit Animals that interplay with past collections.
